19th Century French Petite Bookcase with Wire Mesh Doors
An antique French Provincial bookcase featuring a stunning example of fine craftsmanship. The solid wood cabinet features a beautifully carved design with detailed raised side panels. The two paneled doors are elegantly carved and fitted with wire front insets, allowing for the display and protection of your books and collectibles.
Raised on onion-shaped feet, the bookcase is topped with curved crown molding, adding to its graceful silhouette. Inside, two adjustable shelves provide customizable storage space. The doors are accented with brass escutcheons and lock securely using their original locking mechanism and skeleton key. Attractive steeple point hinges support the doors.
The bookcases do not retain their original paint finish. As found, a warm alabaster hue with French gray accents was applied at some point. These bookcases seamlessly combine functionality with aesthetic appeal, enhancing the character of any room they grace.
