19th Century French Chest of Drawers
A lovely, quintessentially French chest of drawers. A classic piece that was very well made (in the early 1800s) by a skilled craftsman. The two-over-three configuration features a paint finish that is nothing less than perfect. Lightly dry scraped revealing three muted paint colors, (cream, sea foam green, and a pale lavender), the finish highlights the beautifully hand-carved wood details and cute turned bun feet.
This dresser is a timeless piece, with a beautiful look, that will continue to age gracefully and become more valuable with time.
Found in France, dating to the early 19th century
The cabinet reads a light creamy tone overall
Solid wood construction
There is a wood split between the top boards and the dresser has a slight lean, but there is no structural damage
The brass hardware, although old, is probably not original
One escutcheon is missing, and the skeleton keys are not present
Drawers glide nicely when using both hands
Overall wear is consistent with age
Measures approximately 43.5” W x 25” D x 32.5” H
Available for pick up, local delivery, and nationwide shipping.
