"1915" Hungarian Zinc Roof Finial

$0.00
Sold

Once gracing the rooftop of a building in Hungary, this decorative zinc roof finial is now a one-of-a-kind sculptural element to be displayed either inside the home or out. Throughout history, decorative finials were placed atop any manner of buildings, and although typically adorning the peak of a roof, they are also known to be found at the corners. Captivated by its whimsical form, we have attached this beautiful architectural fragment to a custom reclaimed wood stand, enabling the piece to stand on its own as a wonderful focal point.

  • Found in Hungary, turn of the century

  • Finial has been fitted onto a (removable) custom stand constructed of wood salvaged from a local historic building in McKinney, TX

  • Flag at the top of the finial bears the year 1915

  • Wear consistent with age, removal from roof, and exposure to the elements over time

  • Overall dimensions approximately 20 1/2” L x 13” W x 31 1/2” H

  • Zinc finial measures approximately 16” L x 8 1/2” W x 26 1/4” H

  • Wooden base measures 20 1/2” L x 13” W x 1 3/4” H
