Once used to harvest grapes, these wonderfully weathered crates embody the traditional winemaking methods of Champagne, France. A delightful relic of the past, the crate is fitted with handles at each end and is great for storing firewood, blankets, toys, or, our favorite, as a charming tree holder, year-round or at Christmas!

  • Found in France, circa 1900

  • Crates are constructed from poplar

  • Handles are fitted within each end of the crates

  • The crates are all beautifully worn and weathered to a light warm gray color

  • Crates are stamped with their respective champagne house/type of grape (“Fresnet - Eloi, Verzy”, or “Pol Gobert, Verzy”) on the sides in faded red paint

  • Minor scratches, cracks, and wear consistent with age and use

  • Each crate measures approximately 30” W x 19.25” D x 20.75 - 21” H

  • The inside of each crate measures approximately 20.5” W x 14” D
