Antique Louis XVI Vanity Chair, Gold Damask
A French Louis XVI period boudoir chair with a gold-hued damask silk upholstered seat and back.
Crafted from solid wood with mortise and tenon construction during the latter half of the 18th century, this beautiful chair features a straightforward back and is adorned with a carved laurel leaf at each shoulder, laurel wreath upon its crest and gadrooned onion dome finials upon each upper corner.
The seat and back of the chair are upholstered in a lovely soft gold damask silk fabric, which is tacked in place with nailhead trim.
The front legs and are adorned with simple embellishments at their knees, leading to fluted legs resting upon arrow feet. With its polished silhouette and exquisite style, this chair will add a hint of refined French grace to your home, used as an accent chair in a bedroom.
