Once used for holding alcohol, specifically rum rations to be supplied to soldiers on the front during WWI as well as WWII, this antique stoneware rum jug would make an exceptional vase, gentlemen’s gift or decorative piece for a home bar.
Handcrafted in England; found in Belgium
Stamped by the maker, “Pearsons of Chesterfield 1944” on the bottom
“SRD” stenciled on the top, which stood for “Supply Reserve Depot”
Holds one imperial gallon of liquid
Minor scratches and character marks consistent with age and use
No major structural damage
Approximately 6 3/4” W diameter x 13” H
