Antique Stoneware Marmalade Jar Candle
Reminiscent of our wanders through the Cotswolds and the smell of the lichen that covers the stone barns, the scent of our English Moss candles will instantly transport you across the pond to the English countryside.
Our candles are crafted from all-natural soy wax with Evernia Prunastri (oakmoss) essential oil and hand-poured into antique marmalade crocks from the UK (small and large candles). After you’ve enjoyed the candle, simply empty any left-over wax into the bin, then hand-wash the jars with warm water and dish soap and you’re left with a beautiful keepsake!
Dating from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, each stoneware marmalade crock is handmade and found in the northwest of England. Originally containing jam or marmalade, the jars would have been sealed with greaseproof paper that was tied around the top. The jars vary in color from brown, clay, cream, stone, and greige.
***NOTE: to prolong the life of your candle, allow the candle to burn until the wax melts to the edge of the jar during the first burn; approximately 3.5 - 4 hours for the 10oz size and approximately 4 - 4.5 hours for the 20oz size. Remove the candle tag prior to lighting the candle. Do not leave a candle unattended.
