Antique Victorian Papier Mache Powder Box

$0.00
Sold

Although the art of papier mache dates to ancient times, the Victorians were particularly fond of using the medium to mass-produce decorative objects. Tea trays, face screens, and any manner of boxes were of the most common objects crafted, although, eventually the practice was even put to use to create pieces of furniture! Boxes such as this petite papier mache pot once held a lady’s face powder, but we now find it useful as a lovely catch-all vessel for jewelry, and various odds and ends. Style on your desk, a vanity, or bedside table to fashionably keep all your most treasured items close at hand.

  • Found in Wales, mid-19th century

  • Excellent overall condition

  • Measures approximately 3 1/8” W diameter x 2 7/8” H (both measurements include lid)

Available for pick up, local delivery, and nationwide shipping.
