An original Art Deco French leather club chair featuring soft worn leather and a deep comfortable seat. The sloped detail of the chair’s back, high in the center finishing in a crisp point at the corners, gives the chair its name “Chapeau de Gendarme”, as it resembles French police officers’ hats of the 1920s. Oversized scrolled arms, simple wooden feet, and nailhead trim outlining the back of the chair round out the design.

A very statement of Parisian chic, this classic accent chair is perfect for bringing a bit of je ne sais quoi to your home.

  • Found in France, circa 1920

  • Leather has a beautiful chestnut color with areas of color variation

  • Light cracking to the leather offers character and a perfectly “worn in” appearance

  • The chair is low to the ground, but is extremely comfortable!

  • Overall wear is consistent with age and use

  • Approximately 34.25” W x 33” D x 27.75” H

  • Seat measures 13.75” H from the floor
