Deconstructed Louis XV Armchairs (Pair)
A pair of French Louis XV period carved walnut fauteuils (armchairs) featuring a reupholstered cream colored linen backrest and manchettes (arms), and a “deconstructed” design that reveals the original burlap seat coverings.
Crafted from solid wood during the mid-late 18th century, these beautiful chairs feature a molded back that is adorned with carved flowers on its shoulders and acanthus leaves upon its crest. The arms, curved legs and frame also feature intricately carved flowers, acanthus leaves and fleur de lis on the two front feet.
With their elegant silhouette and neutral color palette these chairs are sure to add a touch of French flair and old world charm to your home.
Chairs should be used as occasional pieces and are not suitable for everyday use.

Date to the mid-late 18th century
Solid wood construction, with multiple small repairs to the finish
Backrests and armrests have been reupholstered with cream colored linen (as found)
Both chairs have been repaired with fabric under the seat (as found)
Overall wear is consistent with age
Each chair measures approximately 24” W (including arms) x 20” D x 37” H (16.5” H from floor to top of seat)
