Lutyens Style Teak Garden Bench
An elegant vintage weathered teak English garden bench fashioned in the style of those once created by Sir Edwin Lutyens. The bench features a high-arched back and graceful, rolled arms that lend an air of sophistication to gardens or patios alike.
Lutyens, a British architect renowned for his imaginative designs throughout England, Ireland, and New Delhi, is known for blending traditional and modern techniques. Early in his career, he met Gertrude Jekyll, one of the best British garden designers and horticulturists who’s influence led to the creation of Lutyens’ now iconic benches, the first of which was the eight-foot-long “Thakeham” bench, named for the 1902 West Sussex estate that it was designed for.
