A pair of authentic solid wood hand-turned parade torches. Once used for evening political campaign parades, the torches retain their original ebony paint. A brass fitting at the top of the oil reservoir keeps the wick snug in place. Each torch rests in an iron mount which transforms the once handheld pieces into handsome wall sconces. Hang the pair on either side of the fireplace as a stylish nod to the past.

  • Found in Maine, circa 1880

  • Original ebony paint

  • Newly custom-made iron mounts hang easily on the wall

  • The torches are in working order (oil not included)

  • One of the wicks has been replaced (as found)

  • Character marks and scratches are present; overall condition consistent with age and use

  • Overall dimensions 25” H x 3.75” W x 4” D

  • Each torch measures approximately 21.5” H x 3.5” W x 3.5” D
