Traditional glass canning jars were once found in every farmhouse across the countryside in France. Crafted from heavy glass, each jar carries the charm of a bygone era. No longer used for canning, these jars now serve as versatile decorative pieces. Whether used for storing household items, holding flowers as a vase, or simply as a striking addition to your open kitchen shelves, these lovely jars add character to any setting.

History of the French glass canning jar: Napoleon Bonaparte indirectly influenced the history of French canning jars by offering a prize in 1795 for a reliable method of food preservation for the military. This led Nicolas Appert, a Parisian candy maker, to develop a technique in 1806 using glass jars, cork, wax, and heat, which became the precursor to modern canning.
